The Sacrament of Holy Baptism

A principal sacrament of the Episcopal Church, “Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church” and is appropriate at any age. Baptism occurs during a Sunday service and the gathered assembly who witness the Baptismal vows agree “to support these persons in their life in Christ.” Baptism is, therefore, a community event. Being a pledging member of St. Mary’s is not required for Baptism.
